Hackers use clever schemes to trick millions of people every year using a combination of old tricks & complex techonolgy to get your personal information. GNIAR was recently notified of a possible email scam. The Broker recieved a contact form request from possible buyers & then followed up with an automatic reply to these people. Their response was "Hey we are on vacation, check out our search parameters by utilizing “Dropbox for Business”." When you click that link it wants to verify a valid email address and asks you to type in your password. These “leads” came from personal websites.
Please take causion and use smart judgment when prompted to enter personal information. These types of contacts appear to be innocent, but are designed to take over someones email account.

The REALTOR® Party is a powerful alliance of REALTORS® and REALTOR® Associations working to protect and promote homeownership and property investment. The REALTOR® Party speaks with one voice to advance candidates and public policies that build strong communities and promote a vibrant business environment.
Locally, our elected officials are making decisions that have a huge impact on our daily lives and it’s for this reason the GNIAR RPAC Trustees have taken great care in deciding which candidates to endorse and financially support.
They met and interviewed candidates in multiple races throughout our six (6) county territory of Lake, Porter, Newton, Jasper, Starke and Pulaski counties. Those they have chosen to endorse and financially support for re-election/election in the 2016 General Election on November 8, 2016 are as follows:
Lake County Commissioner, District 2
Gerry Scheub (Incumbent) - $3,000 (Primary) $2,000 (General)
Lake County Commissioner, District 3
Mike Repay (REALTOR®, Incumbent) - $3,000 (Primary) $500 (General)
